JUNIOR DOUBLES

‘ERIC ARTISS’  JUNIOR DOUBLES COMPETITION 2006

Following the success of last year's junior doubles competition, this year the event will take place on Sunday 18th June  starting at 12 noon. (Closing date Sun 10th June- see below)

The competition is open to all junior members (boys and girls) who are 16 or under and not included in the adult draw.  You should be used to playing on the full court with normal tennis balls and know how to keep score.

We will have 2 or 3 ability groups (depending on how many entries we have) and each group will play a round robin tournament, with a small prize for the group winners.  The winners and maybe the runners up in each category will play in the semi-finals leading to a final to find the overall Junior Club Doubles champions.   Everyone will play a few games with players of similar ability during the early session, this is dependent on the number of entries.  The final arrangements will be made clear on the day when we know exactly how many players wish to take part but you do need to remain with the same partner for the whole competition.

To enter, find a partner and send your names, ages and coaching group level (if in coaching – you do not have to be in coaching to take part) to val.carr@ntlworld.com  If you don’t have a partner, you may still enter and we will try to pair you up with a player of a similar standard.

On the day, we will ask for a match fee of £1.50 per player.  There will be some refreshments and a BBQ so bring a little money with you.  Please bring your parents along to support you!

Closing date – we have set a final date for entries (10th June) in order that the day may be organised properly and we can put players into suitable groups.  It may be possible to include a player who applies after this date, but this cannot be guaranteed.
