PLEASE NOTE: THE RULES HAVE CHANGED THIS YEAR. IN AN EFFORT TO GET ALL MATCHES PLAYED BY FINALS DAY THE COMMITTEE HAVE DECIDED THAT WE WILL MONITOR THE MATCHES MORE CLOSELY THIS YEAR. SO PLAY YOUR MATCHES BY THE PLAY-BY DATES TO AVOID LOSING THE CHANCE TO PLAY!!!

Please email match results to championships@wltc.org.uk immediately on completions. Results will be posted on web site as soon as possible after they are received.

Rules of Competition

  1. All the competitions open on 14th April 2008 and will end on Finals Day, Sunday 6th July 2008.

  2. All matches shall be the best of three sets with tie-breaker rules applying for ALL three sets.  All players seniors and juniors will play a tie-breaker at 6 games all.

  3. The result of each match must be entered on the draw sheet immediately on completion of the match (Also, email the result to championships@wltc.org.uk if you have access to email).

  4. Every round in each competition has a ‘Play by Date’ which represents the last day by which all matches in that round should be played.

  5. It is the responsibility of the team( or player) at the TOP of each match draw to initiate arrangements for the playing of that match. They should offer the opposition 3 dates/times to play. If none of the 3 dates/times are suitable for the opposition, they must make a similar counter offer. If none of these first 6 dates/times are mutually suitable, the teams must then make alternate offers until a suitable date/time is found. Positive effort must be made by all persons to play each match.

  6. If matches are not played by the "play-by" date, the top team or player will be contacted by the referees to check that reasonable effort has been made to arrange the match. If rule 5.has not been adhered to, the offending team will forfeit the match. If both teams have made reasonable efforts to arrange the match, and the match still remains unplayed, the match will be decided by the toss of a coin.

PLAY YOUR GAMES AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE!

Finals day is Sunday 6th July 2008.
